San Francisco and Yosemite National Park
We tried to leave Banff for San Francisco by Air Canada. But we waited for over 2 hours, and at last we were able to get on the plane. There was no explanation for the reason why it delayed. The reason was only flight attendant didn't get on it.
We stayed with American friends of ours in north of San Francisco. It took about an hour by car. They showed us around here.

This is the Pacific Ocean. An American friend drove us to here. It took about half an hour by car. The sea was foggy like San Francisco. We had dinner for lunch with friends at a wonderful restaurant in the Bodega Bay. We saw a seal catching fish through the window of the restaurant.
I happened to take a photo of seabirds which gathered around here. Later I noticed this was a location point for the movie "The birds" by Hitchcock. Many birds might give a hint to him. This is also the church in "The birds". We crossed the Golden Gate Bridge by car with an American friend from north. San Francisco is very famous for fog. The upper bridge was covered with it.

Yosemite National Park
We didn't take a tour from San Francisco to Yosemite National Park.
We got on a bus (Greyhound ) for 4 hours and arrived at Marced and then
we had to wait here over 3 hours. We changed the bus at Marced for Yosemite. At last we arrived in Yosemite 3 hours later. It was very dark.
It took for about 10 hours by bus!
If we had driven a car directly, it would have taken only for 5 hours.
Before this journey we didn't worry about it, because it was written in a guide book that the bus left Marced for Yosemite 9 times a day. But we were very
disappointed to know the bus left only 4 times a day,
and besides it left only 1 time in the afternoon!

These are Half Dome right side and North Dome left side. We took a Glacier Point Tour in English. From of Glacier Point we overlooked the best panoramic view of Yosemite. You can see Bridal Veil Fall with a little water right side, Half Dome in the middle and El Capitan left side. El Capitan is very famous for rock climbing and climbers stay on the way to the top for over 3 days and go up to the top. This is sunset in Yosemite.
These are tent cabins in Curry Village. We weren't able to make a reservation for the hotel in Yosemite, so we stayed in a tent for 2 nights. It is made of cotton and the bed is covered with a sheet and a blanket. In the early morning it was very cold, and so we covered ourselves with coats and bath towels to protect from the cold and survived. These are bear's rockers. You mustn't leave food, cosmetics and toothpastes in your tents and cars by any means, because bears are very sensitive to them. You must put them in bear's rocker locked. This is a trash can. It's protected from bears like this. On the second day an American friend saw a man watching out for bears ,because a bear appeared.

This is an elk. We saw 'Pay attention to bears and deers' in road signs on the free way in Canada very often, but we didn't see them at all. In Yosemite Park in the morning we saw a few elks passing through camping grounds to look for feed. This is the evening scenery in San Francisco from Oakland bridge. Left side you can see San Francisco City and Golden Gate Bridge with fog right side. We returned to San Francisco from Yosemite by bus. It took for about 9 hours. This is a cable car which runs near Union Square in San Francisco in the evening.

After finishing our travels
We had a lot of troubles and happenings, because we made a plan for this travel by ourselves. (I made reservations for the hotels by internet.) But on the other hand we had a lot of wonderful memories because we saw a lot of friends.
